ACT Student Champion AwardThe ACT Student Champion Award recognizes one student in each state who is tenacious and persistent, no mater the challenge, and is prepared for life after high school with a goal in mind and plan in place. ACT Student Champions receive a $500 non-renewable scholarship, certificate, plaque, and state-level recognition. Criteria: A student who has overcome challenges and can articulate education and career actions; Students must have a composite ACT score of a 22 on a single test date or a 3.0 or greater on a 4.0 scale; preference will be given to underrepresented and/or first-generation college students. Alisa's Angels Foundation ScholarshipScholarships are awarded to graduating high school seniors (from Arizona and El Paso County/Colorado Springs) who are involved in service to others. Alisa's Angels was founded in memory of Alisa, who was committed to helping others because, "that is what we were put on earth to do". Alisa's Angels will award $5,000 scholarships to up to 8 graduating seniors who are committed to service to others. $2,500 will be available the first year of school. Alpha Phi Alpha FraternityThe Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity awards two scholarships: one to a selected senior after they have enrolled in the college of their choice and one for Colorado Technical University only. They direct their attention towards African American male students; however, African American female students may also apply. Boilermakers - Western States Joint Apprenticeship ProgramAnnouncement of Boilermakers Apprenticeship openings. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply. The Boilermakers trade includes the fabrication, installation, modification and repair of boilers, hydro dams, tanks, pressure vessels, furnaces and associated equipment such as stacks, platforms in power plants, petroleum refinement, chemical plants, paper mills, steel mills and food and beverage plants. Colorado Moose Association - Moose Youth Awareness ScholarshipThis program offers $30,000 in scholarships to college bound students. To qualify for scholarships students must attend the Colorado Moose YA Congress. It is planned for November 5, beginning at 9am in the Longmont Moose Lodge located at 2200 Pratt St., Longmont, CO, 80501. Scholarships are uniquely awarded by peer selection. Daniels Fund ScholarshipMotivated college-bound high school seniors in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming are encouraged to visit the Daniels Fund website (DanielsFund.org/scholarships) to apply online for the Daniels Scholarship Program. Eligibility requirement: financial need, resident of Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, or Wyoming, earn a minimum 3.0 high school GPA, ACT scores of at least 18 in each category (writing score not required) or earn a minimum SAT Math score of 490 and a minimum Evidence-Based Reading & Writing score of 490. All test scores must come from a single test. Super scoring is not accepted. Doug is an outstanding individual and role model demonstrated by his strength of character, and athletic accomplishments, contributions to his community, and support of education.
